I received an invitation from one of the ladies from my networking group—1 year anniversary of her business at its new location. My week is crazy but she's a really important addition to the group and I wanted to show that I value her connection so I had to make it work.
Luckily for me, the event was spread out over 4 days because the location is small. I made it on day 3, just in time before the doors closed! She was really glad I took the time to visit (it showed). We had a great time catching up, I got to hang out at her place of work, meet some of her co-workers, learn more about what she does and strengthen our relationship. We even talked a bit about the networking group! I can't tell you how pleased I felt as I walked out the door. To know that my presence and connection is valued is priceless.
Second stop was to make reservations for our next meeting and scope up the location. I made the reservations and asked for a specific spot and set up and was on my way back to the next thing.
It was not a shabby day in networking land.
